Alliance bolsters development team with three new hires

To support the construction of schemes totalling more than £200m in Manchester, Property Alliance Group has expanded its development team with three new recruits.

Michelle Richardson has been appointed as senior project manager, Will Clarke joins as project manager and Constantine Thanopoulos as development surveyor.

A committee member of Women in Construction in the north west, Michelle brings more than 16 years’ experience to the Alliance team. Since graduating with an architecture degree, she has worked for large construction and property consultants, including Deloitte, and most recently, Manchester and Cheshire Construction.

In her new role, she will be responsible for the delivery of Oxygen in Manchester city centre, which comprises 345 apartments and 12 townhouses, and Uptown, a new development of 156 apartments next to the River Irwell, which is being brought forward by Alliance in partnership with Urban Splash.

A chartered building surveyor, Will has more than 10 years’ experience of project management for large schemes across the north west. His career has seen him work on developments for companies including Manchester Airport Group, Peel Holdings, Muse and Far East Consortium.

At Alliance, he will be working on developments including the 20-storey, 550 unit Motel One and StayCity development at 3 St. Peter’s Square, the Manhattan apartment scheme and a new 17-storey hotel at 55 Portland St.

Joining from Turley, Constantine Thanopoulos will be supporting the Alliance development team across all sectors including offices, industrial, residential and leisure.

Andy Lavin, development director at Alliance said: “This is a significant year for Alliance. As we approach the end of 2018, we will have six major schemes all on site at the same time, bringing high-quality hotels and hundreds of new homes to Manchester.

“The combined experience of Michelle and Will plus the support of Constantine will ensure we have a very skilled, robust team in place to drive delivery and help manage construction as efficiently as possible across the city centre and beyond.”
