Alliance sells 18-acre industrial site to Countryside Properties
Following planning consent for a major new housing development, Property Alliance Group has sold an industrial site in Salford to Countryside Properties for an undisclosed sum.
Located close to the M61 and Walkden town centre, the 18-acre former Eatons Transmission site has been owned by Alliance since 2007 and comprises two industrial buildings totalling 250,000 sq ft plus storage space. The sale paves the way for the construction of 302 new homes.
The Countryside development will comprise a mix of housing types and tenures including affordable homes.
Frank Taylor from Alliance said: “The property has served well as industrial and employment space for decades, however this brownfield site is now past its economic life. The regeneration will make way for privately owned, affordable and PRS houses in an area where there is huge demand. “
Demolition of the existing industrial buildings is now underway and the housing scheme targeted for completion in early 2022.
Preston O’Herlihy advised Countryside on the acquisition of the site.
