Alliance sells three-acre retail site to Aldi
Property Alliance Group has sold the freehold of the Castle View Retail Park in Rhuddlan, Denbighshire, to Aldi for an undisclosed sum.
Castle View Retail Park spans three acres and is currently occupied by a Premier Inn hotel, Whitbread pub and KFC. It includes a 1.5-acre development site, which has planning permission for a new Aldi food store with a sales area of 1,254 sq m.
Alliance acquired the site in January 2016 and planning consent for the new Aldi was secured in June 2016.
Jonathan Mather, development director at Alliance said: “Aldi’s acquisition of the entire retail park represents a significant investment in Rhuddlan and demonstrates its commitment to the town.
“The site adds to the retailer’s growing property portfolio as part of its ambitious development plans across North Wales.”
Construction of the new Aldi has now started and is scheduled to be complete during quarter four of 2017. The store will create around 50 new jobs locally.
