Alliance signs two new tenants at 20 George Hudson Street

Property Alliance Group has secured two further lettings at 20 George Hudson Street in York.

First York has signed a 10-year lease at the 23,091 sq ft Grade II listed building, which was previously home to York City Council. The bus operator, which is part of the First Group, has taken 3,298 sq ft on the first floor.

Sandwich and coffee chain Croque Monsieur has taken the final 1,455 sq ft unit on the ground floor, leaving just one 2,800 sq ft office suite available on the first floor.

Located less than a five-minute walk away from York Station, 20 George Hudson Street has been extensively refurbished by Alliance. Offering Grade A space, all of the building’s original, period features have been restored, including the solid wood parquet floors, exposed beams and glazed brickwork. Alliance has also recently refurbished the full facade of windows.

Office accommodation is spread over the first, second and third floors and is home to tenants, including software company My Knowledge Map and engineering consultancy Halcrow.

Rob Peill of Property Alliance Group said: “With York suffering from a lack of high quality office space, 20 George Hudson Street has appealed to a wide range of organisations, resulting in a strong and steady flow of new occupiers. Businesses have been attracted by the building’s central location and interior, which offers a working environment that’s full of character and sets it apart from other city centre offices.”

Lawrence Hannah and CBRE are joint agents for the scheme.

Miles Lawrence, director at Lawrence Hannah commented: “This property offers office tenants an impressive space with a variety of period features in a modern environment. The

arrival of Croque Monsieur, conveniently located on the ground floor, is a further benefit for both tenants and the surrounding business community.”
