AXIS wins at LABC Building Excellence Awards 2020
Since completion, our AXIS development has been winning awards on a regular basis. The striking, dramatic architecture combined with its status as the most complex residential development in Manchester has drawn the eye of the public and awards judges alike.
The latest good news comes from the LABC Building Excellence Awards 2020 which has declared AXIS the winner of Best High Volume New Housing Development for the North West region.
These awards are the largest business-to-business awards in the building control sector and are designed to recognise excellence in building and reward companies, partnerships and individuals that go the extra mile.
Lorna Stimpson, Chief Executive of LABC, said: “I firmly believe that one of the best ways to see more good work is to praise building excellence and publicly acknowledge companies, designers, site managers and trades people who go the extra mile because of the pride they have in their work.”
Winners are judged on the following criteria:
– The challenges you faced in meeting or exceeding building regulations and how you overcame them
– Effective working relationships with LABC surveyors
– Outstanding craftsmanship
– Innovation and problem solving
– Sustainability and high performance
– Site and project management
– Inclusivity – where applicable is there evidence of an inclusive approach that exceeds Part M
Victoria Russell, a Director at the AXIS developer Property Alliance Group, said: “AXIS is an unmistakeable landmark on Manchester’s skyline and a development that has defied those who said it could not be built. We have had a fantastic response from those that have seen inside Axis and the quality of the interior design, features and specification.
“It’s a building that continues to surprise people, especially in terms of the amount of space that’s been created through a clever design from Jon Matthews Architects. A complex feat of engineering, the completion of AXIS is testament to the our tenacity and vision as we continue to push the boundaries.”
