Upper Brook Street Masterplan consultation launched

We're excited to share the latest update on our Upper Brook Street Masterplan in Manchester!

Property Alliance Group, in partnership with McLaren Property, Moda, and Kadans Science Partner are creating a regenerated urban neighbourhood that blends purpose-built student accommodation, life sciences workspace, and community amenities.

We're opening the second public consultation this week, following a really positive response from key stakeholders during our first session.

Together with Manchester City Council and district stakeholders, we have worked to develop detailed designs as part of the Oxford Road Corridor Strategic Regeneration Framework for a mixed-use scheme, including:

  • 1,840 purpose-built student bed spaces
  • 700,000 sq. ft of life sciences workspace
  • A wealth of community lifestyle design and amenities

New details designed by architects Hawkins\Brown, Sheppard Robson and SimpsonHaugh unveil dedicated ground floor facilities for the local community, including a convenience store, medical centre, community centre and café/shop space .

These developments are crucial to achieving the full potential of Manchester's scientific economy, offering high-quality laboratory research and development space. Not only will they support the university and its students, but they will also provide innovation employment opportunities, contributing to our thriving city.

The masterplan also reveals expanded public realm space, incorporating two new public squares and landscaping designs by re-form landscape architecture limited. In addition to creating almost 6,000 jobs in construction and operations, this scheme represents an initial investment of over £450m from construction alone.

We appreciate the continuous support from the local community and key stakeholders, and we look forward to your active participation in the second public consultation, online or in person at Brunswick Parish Church on Friday, 26 May from 3 pm to 8 pm.
