Property Alliance Group has completed its £80m Oxygen development in Ancoats.
Alliance brings Manhattan to Manchester
Property Alliance Group has welcomed the first residents to Manhattan, a new seven-storey development in Manchester city centre.
Built by Russells Construction, the scheme is located just off New York Street and replaces a 1970’s office building. All 42 of the one and two-bedroom apartments were sold off plan.
Designed in a New York loft style, each property features floor to ceiling windows and private terraces set into a multi-level garden wall. On the seventh floor, there are duplex penthouses offering views over King Street and across the city.
The ground floor offers 2,120 sq ft of commercial space which is ideal for retail or leisure use and available for lease.
Externally, the front façade and part of the original five-storey building has been retained and enhanced, with Juliet balconies and glass balustrades to the front and full balconies at the rear. The red brick has been tinted blue to give a more industrial feel, while a two-storey upwards extension has been finished in glass and copper panels.
Alex Russell, managing director of Alliance, said: “The completion of Manhattan closely follows Axis, adding our second residential development to Manchester city centre this year.
“It’s a building that mixes contemporary and industrial architecture and has a unique position in the city centre, situated opposite Chinatown. This location combined with high spec finishes and private terraces has proved really popular with buyers, generating quick sales.”
Support services for Manhattan residents will be provided by Alliance City Living.
Hynes Illingworth is the appointed agent for the commercial space at Manhattan.
Alliance’s Axis development, which welcomed its first residents in January 2020, spans 28 storeys and comprises 170 luxury apartments.
