2022 NPW Power List Announced

Northern Power Women have released today the names of the 103 individuals who have contributed to making a difference in their communities and organisations whilst accelerating gender equality from the North of England.

The Power List celebrates individuals who challenge the norm and use their influence and power for good, while the Future List recognises the leaders and change makers of the future who are already making a difference in their communities.

Now entering their sixth year, the Northern Power Women Awards, supported by headline sponsor EY, celebrate the individuals and organisations who work towards creating gender balance in organisations, passionately supporting equality across the North.

This year sees Victoria Russell, Director of Brand, Strategy and Partnerships at Property Alliance Group added to the 2022 Northern Power Women Power List. These lists recognise the influential trailblazers from across the North, and their work to create exceptional buildings and have a positive impact on Manchester has seen Victoria join this hall of role models and changemakers.

Stephen Church, North Market Leader & Manchester Office Managing Partner at EY, commented:

“Congratulations to the 103 individuals who have made it onto this year’s Power List and Future List of the Northern Power Women Awards 2022. These lists represent incredible people across the North who have contributed significantly towards making a positive and lasting difference in their communities. At EY we’re thrilled to be supporting these awards, facilitating the celebration and spotlighting of powerhouses across the North.

While this community of role models will be celebrated in full force on the evening of the awards itself, the impact of their legacy is never just for one night. These Northern Powerhouses join the hall of change makers and trailblazers in the Northern Power Women community, their work being promoted to inspire the next generation of gender and equality champions.

Northern Power Women is the only pan-northern campaign accelerating gender equality and involves a vast yet accessible programme of activity, including connecting, influencing, mentoring, thought leadership, and their annual awards ceremony.

Simone Roche MBE, Founder and CEO of Northern Power Women, commented on both the high quality and quantity of nominations, after nearly two years since the last awards nomination period.

Once again this year I have been absolutely amazed at the outstanding number and quality of nominations we’ve received and it has been hugely impressive to see the range of organisations represented – from sport, media and tech to influential academics and entrepreneurs,” said Simone. “I’ve always known there were incredible role models in and from the North, but after receiving 1400 nominations, I have to say that even I was astounded. Our incredible category panels made up of 70 judges had a difficult – but inspiring – time identifying the shortlisted nominees.”

Those on this year’s Power and Future Lists, as well as the individuals and organisations who have been shortlisted in the 11 award categories, will be celebrated on Monday 21st of March 2022 at Manchester Central Convention Centre.  Individual tickets and tables are now available, and the event will once again offer Pay it Forward tickets through a ballot for individuals who may otherwise not be able to attend.
